Apostolos Moussamas

Born in 1976 in Athens, the CEO of Antonis A. Moussamas SA is a highly accomplished leader with an exceptional understanding of the hospitality industry. After graduating from Athens College in 1994, he further cultivated his expertise by obtaining a degree in Hotel Administration from Cornell University, renowned worldwide as one of the most prominent universities for hospitality studies. His fluency in English and German adds an international dimension to his skill set.
Throughout his career, Apostolos has consistently displayed an unwavering commitment to excellence and a remarkable ability to focus on key objectives. His valuable experience began at the Holiday Inn Athens hotel, where he worked in various departments, including Front Office, Banquet, and Sales. This hands-on experience provided him with a comprehensive understanding of hotel management, laying the groundwork for his future success.

Apostolos played a pivotal role in the total renovation of the Holiday Suites and the construction of the Holiday Inn Athens, Attica Avenue. In his position as CEO of Moussamas Bros, he spearheaded the complete reconstruction of Crowne Plaza Athens City Centre (formerly Holiday Inn Athens). This ambitious project, completed within a record-breaking timeframe of 11 months and at a net cost of 19 million euros, showcased his acute decision-making and exceptional management skills. The three properties under his guidance – Crowne Plaza Athens City Centre, Holiday Inn Athens Attica Avenue-Airport West, and Holiday Suites Arnis Street – are widely recognized as state-of-the-art hotels in Athens. An example of his innovative mindset is the installation of hybrid system for thermal energy production in 2010-2011. It took 8 years for such a technology to become widely adopted in the hotel industry in Greece.

Two of these properties are members of the prestigious Intercontinental Hotels Group and have received numerous awards, including Quality Excellence Awards and IHG Torchbearer Awards. Apostolos commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and guest satisfaction is evident through the recognition bestowed upon these hotels by both IHG and TripAdvisor.

Beyond his role within the company, the CEO actively contributes to the industry’s growth and innovation. In 2019 and 2020, he served as a judge and mentor for Capsule T Accelerator of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, a program aimed at supporting early- stage tech start-ups in the travel and hospitality sector. The teams he mentored got third and first place respectively. Additionally, he holds the position of Vice President in the Athens Hotel Association and serves on the board of directors of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, demonstrating his dedication to advancing the industry at a broader level.

With his deep knowledge of the hospitality industry, his relentless work ethic, and his ability to make insightful decisions, the CEO is the driving force behind the company’s success. His leadership, combined with his active involvement in industry associations, positions him as a respected figure in the hotel and tourism sector.

Emmanouela Mousama

Emmanouela Mousama, born in Athens in 1974, is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse range of experiences and a strong passion for social change, diversity, human rights, and sustainability. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Piraeus (1997) and an MSc in Organizational Behavior from City University in London. In 2023, she graduated with an ALM in International Relations from Harvard Extension School, further enriching her knowledge and understanding of global affairs.

Emmanouela’s journey in making a positive impact began during her employment at the NGO PRAKSIS (Programs of Development, Social Support, and Medical Cooperation) from 2013 to 2016. Since 2016, Emmanouela has been a key member of the Antonis A. Moussamas SA team, serving as the Experience and Communication Director. Her role involves overseeing and contributing to the operational aspects of the three prestigious properties owned by the company, namely the Crowne Plaza Athens City Centre, the Holiday Inn Athens Attica Ave. Airport West, and the Holiday Inn Arnis Street.

Emmanouela’s commitment to social causes extends beyond her professional life. She has actively participated in various entities, including serving as the General Secretary of the Parents Committee supporting the Fund Drive of the Hellenic American Educational Foundation. She has been an elected member on the Board of Directors of HAPCO (Hellenic Association of Professional Congress Organizers) as from 2019- 2022. She is serving as a judge, on the Judging and Advisory Committees for the Capsule T Accelerator of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, a program aimed at supporting early-stage tech start-ups in the travel and hospitality sector, since the inception of the accelerator. This initiative was primarily designed to support early-stage tech start-ups in the travel and hospitality sector.

Emmanouela’s commitment to empowering women is evident in her active participation in several organizations. She is a member of Women Act, a mentor at Women on Top, and a member of the Greek Delegation of the European Women’s Lobby. Each role affirms her steadfast dedication to improving gender equity and supporting women in various capacities.
